The in between time...

After Michal's graduation, before residency...  Normal work days and weekends together.
Memorial Day weekend we stayed home; it was WONDERFUL.
We had a date night to the movies.  Saturday we went hiking at Great Falls (Virginia side) with Jim.  Halina discovered honeysuckle and we had a perfect 3 hour hike with a special debut from "the Tunnel" (oddly scary voice of the tunnel as we pass under it - Halina is scared of tunnels, but loves "talking" to the tunnel).  Sunday Michal made an amazing lemon chiken dish and we picniced at the Y.  Monday we went to Glenmont Pool with Buffy, Lars, and John, then took the girls to ride their bikes at Sligo.
Staying home together was infectious, and we've enjoyed doing so since.  Something else was infectious - Lyme disease.  Don't know when I was bited, but sometime over that weekend is my best guess.  Another change is that home is a 20 minute drive from our house.  Our neighbor's parents have generously allowed us to stay in their home while they are away for the summer and our home is renovated.  It's been a wonderful place to live, a big picture window looks out onto a shaded deck and lawn-less yard full of native plantings.
On another note, Halina's imagination has kicked-in FULLY.  She is a dramaqueen and has a fantatic and lively imagination where she has her feet talk to eachother, kiss, and hide from monsters together during bathtime, and her stuffed cars and Dora play people have elaborate adventures together.  Carolina is making a lot of noise, a few words we can understand.  She alwas ready to tinker with something, turning her little hands and making faces.
