Winter weekends

A visit to Durham.  Lauren went to her brother's and Halina and I to Guenevere and Mike's.  It was a quick trip, but just what I needed.  Sunday was a full day, starting with a walk to breakfast at Elmo's, a drink on ninth, several hours at the museum of life and science, and plenty of time "snuggling" on the floor with bones.

Meanwhile, Caroline got time alone with Anna, Sylwester, Magda, Chan, and Michal in NJ.

A great hike near Great falls.  Halina walked 4+ miles carrying mater and lightning mcqueen...  Beautiful day, perfect hint of spring weather.

Architect came in Friday March 4th - I think we're going for it.  June...

Halina started Pre-school this past week.  Friday, the 4th was her first full day and it went well.  Her willingness for independent play is growing.  As is her love for princesses.  Tonight she looked at her Dad in the bathroom mirror and told him he was king and she was a princess, and then asked "But where is my prince?"

Gymnastics continues to go well, although it took 10 minutes to coaks Halina into class.  She hadn't had a problem for the other four classes, but she gave me a different storey.  Since Halina has blown through the front of her one pair of shoes, we went to Wheaton Mall shopping for shoes:  Stide Right...

Both girls' feet grew, Halina to a 8 and Caroline to a 6.5.  Halina was so cooperative.  Caroline surprised me.  When 3 pairs were set in front of us for her to try on, she definitively went for one.  After tryong on that same pair, I asked if she liked them and she shook her head as a definite "yes".  It amazes me that Caroline already knows what she wants.  She has developed a strong NO when she wants us to know she doesn't like something.
